Struggling To Target Specific Areas Of Your Leg????

Each person has areas of their body that they would like to improve and even within that body part specific muscles. Your legs make up a huge percentage of your overall body and often a certain part can be lacking compared to others.

Whether you want to build more muscle on your outer, inner or the centre I've got you covered with some top tips to allow you to focus your training around improving your weak points.

Let's start with foot placement. By placing your feet in different areas during an exercise you are naturally going to work different muscles.

Initially lets talk about leg press movements. Leg press can be one of the most beneficial mass builders for our legs if done correctly. It can also be used to target specific muscles within the leg depending on where you place your feet.

If you are looking to build your quads you should look to place your feet lower down on the pad when pressing. This will force your quads to take most of the load from the movement.

If you are looking to build your hamstrings more you should place your feet higher up on the pad.

Those are the two general rules but even within those you can be more target specific.

To target your inner leg you should place your feet wider and further apart, for your outer leg place your feet closer together.

Now you will be working all of your leg regardless of the your foot placement throughout the movement but you can shift more of the emphasis by following those small guideline.

Top tip breakdown:

Quad focus- feet low

hamstring focus- feet high

inner leg- feet wide

outer leg- feet narrow
